You forgot one

Hey Mike, Sorry to chime in here when I have not been in contact for ages but I think the movie "Dig" needs to be there. It is a rock and roll documentary covering the lives of the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Dandy Warhols. If you have not seen it you should. It is hard to believe that it is a documentary. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0388888/

close call

Had to think about this one for a minute, I was torn between Blues Brothers & Purple Rain. Had to go for my favourite genre of music instead of choosing a favourite of of my youth. Oh ya, where's Pinball wizard. Surely that one is an all time fav. Li

best music films

it's SOOOOOOOO hard to choose the #1 best - but I did anyway. My top 3 (in no order) are the top 3 on this list. - Liz

The best rock and roll film

The best rock and roll film isn't even on your list. How fair of a poll is this? Where is Grease?

woodstock

Nothing captures a generation so raw and honest as Woodstock. Its one thing to watch a film and be blown away, but to feel the power behind a moment in time is spiritual. Whenever I see this film I'm that 14 yr old boy who hitched hiked 500 miles to go stay on his sisters commune in the Kootneys circa 1969. Best production value, live concert - Stop Making Sense excellent live performance caught on film. Honorable unmentionables . 2 films by D.A. Pennebaker: 1) Don't Look Back, Dylans 1965 tour of England 2) Monterey Pop Festival definitley should be on this list. Eric Burdon and the Animals,Big Brother and the Holding Company (Janis sings "Ball and Chain") Canned Heat, The Who! Jimi Hendrix!

Greatest Rock and Roll film...

Hey mike, what about 'The Great Rock and Roll Swindle' - sex pistols, or even 'Jailhouse Blues' with the king. I vote for 'Ziggy Stardust' - absolute classic.
