Great TV

Wake Up Music Fans! Wake Up! Lou and Elvis Tear It Up

All you music lovers out there who have yet to watch Elvis Costello's fantastic talk show, "Spectacle", have simply got to wake up and realize what you've been missing.

As I said in my earlier piece, Attention All Music Fans! The Best Talk Show Ever: "Spectacle: Elvis Costello with...", there's never been a show quite like this one. It is - I repeat - the best talk show ever.

Attention All Music Fans! The Best Talk Show Ever: "Spectacle: Elvis Costello with..."

"I'm a man with a mission in two or three editions"

       - Elvis Costello, "Everyday I Write the Book"

The best talk show ever. That's what I'd call Elvis Costello's new one-hour weekly show, "Spectacle: Elvis Costello with...", the first episode of which finally aired here in Canada over the weekend.

I know I said in an earlier piece that "Vagina Power", the show hosted by Alexyss K. Tylor and her mom, was the greatest talk show on TV, but what I really meant was that it was the most hilarious and bizarre talk show ever made, while Elvis' show is the most fascinating, at least for anyone who's a serious music fan.

The "Jizz In My Pants" Rave

You've really gotta love those Lonely Island guys who make the SNL Digital Shorts. First they gave us "Lazy Sunday", then "Dick In A Box" (featuring Justin Timberlake), and then "Iran So Far Away" (featuring Adam Levine from Maroon 5). Now Andy Samberg and co. have come up with yet another classic.

The Greatest Talk Show Ever Made: The "Vagina Power" Rave

Ok, I think I may have found the greatest TV show ever made. I can't state that as absolute fact since I've yet to see every other show ever produced, but to my mind it really can't get much better than this. I mean, this is definitely one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Not just on TV, but anywhere... ever... period! Check it out and see if you don't agree. After all, a talk show called "Vagina Power" just isn't going to be boring now, is it? Especially not when a straight-talking host like Alexyss K. Tylor brings her mom along as sidekick - truly a classic combination.

The "Iran So Far Away" Must-See Clip Rave

First for X'mas '05 they gave us the classic "Lazy Sunday", about two guys on a quest to eat a few cupcakes and see "The Chronic-what?-cles of Narnia". Then last X'mas they gave us the brilliant "Dick In A Box", featuring Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg singing all about the ultimate romantic X'mas gift. There have been other great clips in their SNL Digital Shorts series, but none as fantastic as those two... until now. Last Saturday night, during the season premiere of SNL, they finally gave us a third classic clip on par with the other two. It's called "Iran So Far Away" and, although it may be a bit early for X'mas this year, it's yet another great gift.
