The Bob On Neil

Bob Dylan on Neil Young:

"Neil is very sincere, if nothing else. He's sincere, and he's got a God-given talent, with that voice of his, and the melodic strain that runs through absolutely everything he does. He could be at his most thrashy, but it's still going to be elevated by some melody. Neil's the only one who does that. There's nobody in his category."

Tell it like it is Bob!

And for all those of you who still haven't accepted the glory of Neil into your life (yes, you who turn away from Neil's bright light, and steadfastly keep your hearts and ears shut tight, and who continue to reject what you've read in my Neil Raves over the years as not quite right), perhaps you can finally - FINALLY - accept The Truth when it comes from the mouth of The Bob himself. What I'm saying here is, perhaps you can accept that Bob Dylan, at least, knows what he's talking about when it comes to pure musical brilliance. And what he's talkin' about is Neil.

This quote, by the way, is from an interview in the 40th Anniversary Issue of Rolling Stone, which I just picked up yesterday. Besides the one with Bob, it's chock-full of many other interviews with greats such as Neil, Marty, Mick, Keith, Patti and more. Well worth picking up.
